As you know, our parish has a cemetery, St. Mary Cemetery, at Elizabeth and McMackin Streets. There have been some rumors circulating that our cemetery is full, that no more gravesites are available. That is far from true. You will see from the figures below that there are still over 200 gravesites available. Graves in our cemetery are presently restricted to Assumption parishioners and their families. The price for purchase of graves here is significantly less than those in other cemeteries in our area, and inquiries often come from people not connected to our parish just because of the lower price. However, at this time, the parishioner restriction continues. This will likely change in the future as we become united more closely to the other parishes in our Family of Parishes. Therefore, if you have not already made final arrangements for yourself or family members, you may want to consider pre-purchasing graves in our cemetery sooner rather than later.

The care of our cemetery is a responsibility of our parish now, and the perpetual responsibility of our Family of Parishes in the future. It will not be abandoned if Assumption Parish merges elsewhere sometime down the road.
