In the Fall of 1999 the idea for a website for the school was conceived. The following year the decision was made to make this a website for the entire parish. The team was formed and began meeting biweekly for the first six months. Once the site was established the team began meeting
monthly. The site began to grow with an increase in content from the Parish organizations. New members joined the team and fresh ideas were added to the site. The rest is history, and the Assumption web team feels we have one of the finest parish websites in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. The Assumption web team has a policy of continuous improvement and is always
looking for new members, as well as new content and school and parish information to add to the site. No prior experience in websites is required; we will gladly teach anyone who is willing to learn, although a basic knowledge of computers is definitely helpful. If you are interested
in joining the Assumption web team please contact the webmaster.

Hello, my name is Douglas Riga. I am a "computer geek". I've been playing and working with computers since I was in junior high school.
I was born in Flint, MI. I grew up mostly in Los Angeles, CA and attended Van Nuys High School. After high school, I worked a couple of jobs and attended classes at California State University Northridge before joining the U.S. Navy. I spent 10 years on active duty and presently serve in the Navy Reserves. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems at University of Phoenix. I am currently working at Xavier University where I support and maintain their portal website.
My wife, Renee, and I recently (2004) moved our family to Ohio and became members of the parish at that time. My son is an active Boy Scout and is attending Assumption School. My daughter is attending public school and is involved with Girl Scouts at Assumption.
Personal interests include reading (Sci-Fi & Fantasy), playing games, and, you guessed it, computers. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My favorite food is chocolate and my favorite beverage is Diet Coke. My favorite show is the various incarnations of Star Trek, but I've become a recent fan of the new Battlestar Gallactica series. One of my favorite websites is slashdot.org.
Joining the parish web team provides me the opportunity to give back to this wonderful community we've been allowed to become a part of.

Hi, my name is Bill Rocklin. I came to Assumption Parish in the 8th grade (1960 grad) and attended LaSalle High School (member of LaSalle's Premier graduating Class of 1964). After graduation, I left for 4 years in the Air Force (Texas, Colorado, Georgia, Virginia, and Thailand during Vietnam era). When I came home, I worked for a short period of time for Formica and Summe Brothers Dairy, then was hired by Procter & Gamble in 1970. I attended U.C. Evening College and received a B.S. in Applied Math, followed with some graduate work in Statistics. I retired in 2002 after 32 years with P&G.
My wife, Linda (nee Schroder) has been at Assumption... well almost forever. She was baptized at Assumption Church .. the old one that was replaced in 1957... attended all 8 years at Assumption Grade School (1958 grad) and met me at an Assumption C.Y.O. dance ... that's right, High School sweethearts, married over 35 years.
My primary interests? My family (3 grown children - Lori, Tony & Nik and 4 grandchildren - Brian & Brandon, Sarah & Ashley), Photography (and the Photoshop fun that follows) and Computers, especially surfing the Internet .. check out http://www.google.com for a great search engine.     Hi, my name is Dennis Fox. I have been a member of Assumption parish since 1997. I was raised in Cheviot Ohio and attended St. Martin of Tours grade school there. I am a 1972 graduate of La Salle High School and obtained an Associate of Science in Electro-Mechanical Technology at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. I am employed as a Senior Mechanical Designer at Siemens Energy and Automation Inc. in Norwood Ohio, designing large industrial electric motors (100 to 17,000 horsepower) using computer aided design/drafting (CAD) software. I have one daughter, Ellen, who currently attends Assumption. I joined the web team partially because I have an interest in computers, plus I wanted to make a contribution to the church and school. I think Assumption's website is one of the best church/school web pages that I've seen, and I want to help make it even better. I really like the parish and everyone I've had the pleasure of meeting and working with since we've been members. I think there's a real sense of community here that I want to be a part of and helping with the web site is a good way for me to do it. My favorite site is the website of a musical group from Kansas City, MO called Tullamore. www.omniventure.com/tullamore. They are good friends and play traditional Irish and Scottish music as well as some folk tunes. They have performed at The Dubliner Irish pub in Cincinnati and also at the Ohio Renaissance Festival.

Hi, my name is Ben Hawkins.  I am a 1978 graduate of Assumption School. I attended Roger Bacon High School, where I took my first computer class and played in the band. During this time, I also earned my Eagle Scout award as a member of Assumption's Troop 27. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems.
After college, I taught computer programming to the disabled, and also worked as a programmer and in computer support. I am a member of Madonna Council Knights of Columbus and the Sound Body Jazz Orchestra (Roger Bacon Alumni Big Band). I also volunteer as Regional Coordinator for a National Healthcare Support Group.
I don't have any "human" children, but do care for Sasha (beagle/lab mix), Pebbles and Freda (cats), C.B. (canary), and some goldfish.
My favorite ice cream is butterscotch ripple, favorite TV show is anything Star Trek related, and my favorite website (besides Assumption's) is the one for our band:  www.sbjazzorchestra.com.

I'm Carolyn Bryant. I was born and raised in College Hill. I attended St. Vivian's grade school, Our Lady of the Angels High School, and studied Early Childhood Development at University of Cincinnati.
I am owner and partner in Bryant’s Upholstery, a small business specializing in antique cars. I maintain all the office procedures. I also work with the process of restoring the upholstery.
I'm a self taught nerd which just goes to show it's not that difficult with a little help from your family, friends, and online tutorials. I'm also an avid gardener. My husband Dave and I have been parishioners since 1991. Our children, attend Assumption grade school. We have a cat named Mercury, who we adore.
My favorite TV show is The Screensavers. Which leads us to my favorite web site. www.thescreensavers.com . I could list a ton really...... but at this time that is my favorite. :) Favorite food has to be hands down, chicken Chimichanga.  I'll take a Mt. Dew with that, thank you. Maybe for dessert some Mint chocolate chip ice cream. (Thanks Jessica for the great questions!)
I have been given the opportunity to give back to my parish and school, and for that I am thankful. I've met some great people in this  experience, without them this site would not be what it is! I'm thrilled with the response the Assumption's site has received so far.  Hopefully we can grow as a parish with this new means of communications. Carolyn@AssumptionMtHealthy.org or
