CHARITABLE PHARMACY
grows in first year
2007 Summary
2007 was a very busy year for members of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. This past year, we were able to help 546 people as we visited 150 homes. This does not include the goods and services provided to our community pantry. We continue to help support the Mt. Healthy Alliance Food and Clothing Pantry by providing food, volunteer hours, social agency referrals, and St. Vincent DePaul vouchers for clothing, household items, and furniture. The Mt. Healthy Food Pantry was able to help 1,015 households (3,944 people) in 2007. All this is accomplished through the efforts of eight regular members and 33 volunteers for special events such as, bundle weekends, collecting, sorting, and packing food and gift items for the holidays. People who volunteer to help with the activities of the SVDP society range from school children who collect canned goods and volunteer with their parents, boy scouts and their leaders, teenagers, young adults, adults, and retired citizens. These many volunteers however, could not do this work without the generous support of the members of our parish. If you would like to learn more about the work of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, please come to one of our meetings the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the rectory basement meeting room or contact the rectory.
